(Today was the day! After nearly 24hours in the air, we finally made it to Dublin!
The three flights went by much quicker than I thought they would, and me oh my, did I love it! The Star Wars movies back to back and not feeling like I was in a meat locker the entire flight made it that much more bearable.
Ireland. Is. Incredible.
Dublin reminds me so much of New York City, with all its rustic apartments, old-school architecture, and with the reckless habits of its drivers.
After we all got settled into our hotel and had some breakfast, I was able to go on a walk with Summer, Asia, Kaira, and Rylan to Saint Stephen's Green to walk around the park and get some fresh air. We came across a local named Steve, and he showed us the way so we didn't get lost while he told us all about his life here in Ireland, and the comparisons he made to it with other areas he's lived in previously, including New York. It was so fainting hearing about the life choices he had made, and how they've affected him.
Also, today, I tried my very first Irish Guinness! The one back in the states that my boyfriend Alex made me try was very "HOPs" tasting (bitter and nasty). But the one here is so smooth and delicious, I couldn't get enough. Now, the only trick is trying to get some of that goodness back home! hehehe
What a wonderful first day.
It's currently only 8:20pm here in Ireland, and, I'm so done with the day. So exhausted after spending nearly 50 hours awake the past few days. I can't wait to feel nice and refreshed tomorrow!
