After the tour of South West, we stopped at The Jolly Sandwich to get lunch, and it was INCRREDIBLE! I got a chickpea wrap, and I was so glad I did. Carrie even asked for feedback on the taste cause she wanted to make them when she got home!
When we finished up getting our lunches and got back onto the bus, we drove up to Cavan Burren Park in Blackline. We got to venture and hike around rocks that have been dated back to prior the latest Ice Age. Carbon dating showed that these rocks were anywhere from 4.5-6 thousand years old. It was so hard for me even fathom how long ago that really is.
After we returned to our apartments and ate dinner, we then got together as a group with all the HCC students to break down some of the similarities and differences between Irish culture and Hawaiian culture, which turned into a very intense conversation about differences between people, and why we thought those differences occurred.
I loved getting to sit with everyone else from Hawai’i to talk about what we’ve seen so far on this journey. It felt like a time we all finally got to hear everyone’s thoughts, and it felt like a little bonding experience. I hope we have more of those kinds of meeting. It’s 1am, so I’m finally off to bed. But, I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
