Being from Hawai'i, you are asked all the time if you surf. And I always have to say no. But after today, I can say that I have surfed, and I have successfully put on a wet suit! Though it took over 20 minutes, and the helping hands of many, I was able to squeeze in without much of a problem.
The group that we went with to go surfing were pretty goofy, which made it all the more fun, and none of them thought we were silly being from Hawai'i and never having gone surging before. After a quick run down on the beach, we were able to get into the water. We were expecting basically an ice bath, so the water felt so much warmer than we though it would.
We had about 30 or 40 minutes being in the water, and I only stood up once for about 2 seconds, but it was SO much fun! I enjoyed every second of it. Today was the first day we got to just play, and it felt nice after almost a week straight of just "Go! Go! Go!" After surfing, our group was going to go on a little nature walk up the coast. But, Asia, Summer and I had other plans. We went to our room to take a quick 20 min nap, which then turned into a 4 hour nap. We woke up an hour after dinner was supposed to start. we decided to run down, get some dinner, and then take our own little nature walk along the shore that was down the street from The Atlantic Apartotel. It was beautiful. I was on the hunt for a small, white, smooth stone to bring back for my godmother, and I finally found one on this little stroll we went on.
Tomorrow is a new day, and for us, it'll be another day out on the water!
